Geraldine live at the BBC

Florence and the machine

She is the sensation of the moment in the UK and likely to grab a few awards at the Brit in a couple of weeks time. She releases a lot of energy on stage - with a pinch of extravaganza that makes it even better..
The video isn't top quality but we wanted to show you a live session where she makes the most of her amazing voice.

Franz Ferdinand, Ulysses

The brand new LP from Franz Ferdinand is available from here. I had the chance to discover some of these new tracks live from La Cigale and it worth it!

Herman Dune, My Home Is Nowhere Without You

I started to like Herman Düne when I discovered him with the single I wish I could see you soon - from his first very talented album Giant.

The first video - My Home Is Nowhere Without You is the first extract from his new LP Next Year In Zion.

Beat Assailant, I Like Cash

Huge surprise for me yesterday when I attended a private live and had the opportunity to discover Beat Assailant. That was quite a schock! This hip-hop guy is orginally from Atlanta but weird enough, really took off in France. He just released his second LP Imperial Pressure.

On stage the 10 band members create an incredible mix of jazz beat, funky sounds, a taste of soul and a very good hip-hop vocal flow. It reminds me of Brooklyn Funk Essentials. Let's groove tonite!

Beirut, Nantes

Beirut is a band that was created by Zach Condon and mixes several music genres with a tons of talent: pop, chanson & western europe folk. Sweetly enjoyable.

They released until now 2 albums: Gulag Orkestar (2006), The Flying Club Cup (2007)

Hugh Coltman - Sixteen

When you listen to Hugh Coltman (ex-The Hoax)'s last album "Stories from the SafeHouse", you think this guy is gonna be around for a while; the man has been living in Paris for the last 8 years but hasn't lost anything of his English touch.
His Voice and Music sometimes remind us people like Jeff Buckley or Sting (at his best :) )

The first video is a live version of "Sixteen" - extract from his album, while the second is a stunning cover of "The Nature boy" from Nat King Cole - live from a Parisian backyard :).
Enjoy.

Brendan Benson - Cold Hands

Brendan Benson produces some classic American pop rock but is recognized for the quality for his work. He released his last Opus in 2005 - on which the single Cold Hands was. It is his best-known track as it has been chosen for a number of commercials and TV series.
He has since then collaborated with Jack White and the Raconteurs, which is decent reference and is due to release his new album soon.
